Rory O’Hanlon:- Comedy Hour 4****

| On 22, Aug 2018

There it is in a nutshell. Rory O’Hanlon and an hour of comedy. There can’t be many Fringe show titles that sum up what is going to happen as succinctly as this can there?
But what it doesn’t tell you, although if you have seen him before you’ll know, is that Hanlon will deliver a no nonsense hour filled with well-crafted jokes and delightfully observed stories on a variety of subjects and sure-fire laughter and entertainment an integral part of the package.
As his name would suggest he is Irish, although lives in London these days, and has a pleasing brogue that adds to the ambience he manages to create even in the performance space that would have suited a black magic ritual better, but Rory, with topics under his microscope such as the weather and his colouring, Love Island, the Royal Wedding, Conor McGregor, his family, Ryan Air, Ed Sheerin and attempting to learn a foreign language give him ample scope to allow him to showcase his abilities as a writer and performer.
Rory O’Hanlon has been popular in the Fringe for a while now, but still flies a little under the radar. He deserves a higher profile so try his show for yourself. I’d be surprised if you would disagree.
