A Ladder to the Stars – 4****

| On 17, Aug 2022

Seemingly two of the nicest people greet you as you take your seats and prepare for this wonderful gem of a story. The stage is full of presents and a circular table before we meet the little girl we will follow throughout the show. The girl and all the following props are in the form of puppets, all of which look like a lot of love and attention as been given to them.

The performance of the little girl is captivating, from her head moves to her tiny feet scuttling across the stage, you will be slowly mesmerised as our duo take you through this heart-warming story. Our little girl is turning seven and for her birthday she has a simple wish, to dance with the stars! Once the stars hear about this wish they must work together with the sun, moon, wind and lightning as well as a lot more to get this girl up among the stars. Not as easy as it sounds and we are taken on this journey of multiple attempts to get the girl her wish.

The overarching story is quite simple in its premise but is told with such a touching way that you won’t be able but to feel uplifted as you leave having had a lovely time. You may even ask yourself what you wished for when you were a child and if that dream has changed. A charming and endearing story about wishes we make and the journey life takes us on wonderfully told.
