Tom Henry, Jack Hester: Tom and Jack Having the Craic 2.5** - One4Review

Tom Henry, Jack Hester: Tom and Jack Having the Craic 2.5**

| On 10, Aug 2022

I kinda thought that this show was going to be a double act with Tom & Jack, however what we get is a show split in 2 with the boys plying their trade separately.
It’s a cracking venue they share at Just The Tonic at the Caves (just up the stairs), but it’s a pity the bar at the back of the room wasn’t open for the patrons.

Tom introduced us to Jack and there was really good energy in the room for these Fringe First Timers, a bit like wanting your child to be brilliant at the school Nativity.
Jack’s Irish charms were put to the test and he walked us through a variety of his mishaps and life experiences. And to be fair there were some very funny moments, especially the comment from the lady in the 2nd row! You need to work that into your set.

Tom then took over the second part of the show trying to win us over with his tales from his travels. Again he also had his moments.

This show is very much a work in progress and it does lack a bit of cohesion – how did you guys meet, what made you do a show together? – a little bit of a narrative might have helped set the scene for your audience.
Hey, everyone has to start somewhere.
