Gracey Mulvey is a lovely Irish lady who got straight into finding out who we were almost before she’d introduced herself. She’s bubbly and bouncy and full of genuine compliments for whatever the audience had to tell her, managing to get complex stories from people with a couple of questions.

The show proper is a delightful wander through a number of topics, loosely arranged around a theme, the poor execution of which technique Grace rightly mocks, and then abuses for her own comic devices. Topics range in heft, and Ms Mulvey floats lightly through the difficult ones, offering humour as a way to deal with some hard stuff, and belabours the trivial ones for excellent comic effect.

I get the impression that Ms Mulvey is used to playing to larger audiences – justifiably – where the laughter takes longer to fade, and thus this show feels a little roomy with fewer of us in the room. However, Grace Mulvey is an engaging and friendly performer who makes the absolute most of what she has.
