Spring Day – Exvangelical 4**** - One4Review
one4review | On 13, Aug 2024
It was a dark wet night outside, the interior of her space sombre, a fitting background to the hour we were to see if the preshow info was to be believed.
And then everything changed. Spring Day took to the stage, This comedian and actress brought light to proceedings, as the far from easy life she has endured is laid bare.
Spring was born with cerebral palsy and raised in America’s bible belt with more than dysfunctional parents. At thirteen she became involved in a religious cult, gradually being drawn deeper in, until 13 years later she broke free.
Now married and living in London, following a spell in Japan, she has remarkable story telling skills, amazing stage presence and an outstanding personality and a likeability factor also. She has a whole lot of funny, occasionally outrageous jokes and anecdotes and occasionally she goes places with her humour that other comedians wouldn’t.
This is a well written and presented show, delivered by a performer who knows what she is about and with an appearance on Live at The Apollo already under her belt. She has come a long way.
