Carl Donnelly – Bad Man Tings 4**** - One4Review

Carl Donnelly – Bad Man Tings 4****

| On 25, Aug 2016

34 is supposed to be a good age when we are at our happiest and it is obvious that Carl Donnelly, who achieved the age recently, seem pretty well contented with his life once more.
Previous shows on his depression or his divorce seem things of the past as this funny man draws the humour out of his veganism, his new found happiness in gardening, his spiralizer, an acquired taste for yoga and his general more middle class life than his working class origins.
Donnelly has always been an engaging character and in this show he riffs with the audience, often it seems going off piste with some anecdotes, which draw as much mirth as the more prepared stuff.
There is still a bit of ‘the lad’ left in Donnely though, farting gets its own section as does a his entrepreneurial skills as a twelve year involving water wings and a defence of Kayne West tweet to boot.
Carl may be more happy with life, not necessarily a good place for a comic to forge material, but believe me this is a show you wouldn’t want to miss as the audience sore from laughing at the capacity gig I attended would attest to.
