Out of the Blue - One4Review

One of the many acappella groups that are performing at the Fringe, and more specifically at C Venues, Out of the Blue have been gracing the Edinburgh with their appearances  for a number of years now, so how come it was the first time I saw them? Well, could be that I could never prize the review ticket out of Sheila’s hand before is certainly a major contributory factor.   This fourteen strong group of students and past students from Oxford University take to the stage with a version of Let Me Entertain You and proceed to carry out their promise over the next fifty minutes or so. Sharing the vocals and indulging in some dances routines to boot, their material is wide and varied and well performed. A little audience participation is indulged in during their version of Mustang Sally, something that worked surprisingly well and their final number, their tour de force Queen melody commencing with Fat Bottomed Girls, nearly brings the house down. So the heat is on with us to get next year’s ticket, almost as much as if you want to get one for this year, as these guys sell out virtually everyday. ****
