Stephen Sondheim musicals are never easy to produce, they require a cast of superb singers who can act and have perfect timing. Alternatively you could take out some of the music and convert numbers into monologues. Believe it or not this actually worked. This company has some very good singers and they have utilised the strengths of the performers to the shows advantage. The cuts and slight adaptations are barely noticeable and the cast work very hard throughout. Whether you like Sondheim or not this show is worth seeing for the talent on stage as few people actually comment on the lesson in American History. ***
