Jason Byrne – My Special Eye 5 Star ***** - One4Review

Okay I have seen Jason Byrne probably more than any other major comic over the years since he was a young lad in his twenties and what has always been there and certainly still is, is his sense of fun and the ability to pass this obvious enjoyment on to his audience, be it a small venue many years ago up to the massive McEwan Hall he is playing this year.
With Byrne you can be certain of moments of silliness, the opening of the show is a prime example, audience interplay, and he is the absolute master of this hilarious anecdotes of his personal life and of course great craic.
The show seems organic running wherever his fertile comedy brain decides to take him, and it does take some turns along the way, but one can always be assured of an hour or slightly more on the night I attended of top notch hilarity. He does also like his running gags usually more thought of as a sketch comedy ruse, but it is something that is integral to this performance.
This is a show with no deep meaning just an unmitigated good time guaranteed to one and all.
