NewsRevue 2013 4 Stars **** - One4Review

NewsRevue 2013 4 Stars ****

| On 15, Aug 2013

As consistent as the late nights, poor diet and lack of sleep that is part and parcel of my Fringe each year is a must-see visit to Canal Café Theatre’s NewsRevue offering.

The format is tried and tested – four comic ‘assassins’, this year Rachael Born, Thomas Judd, Alex Pritchett and Maddie Rice in conjunction with MD Ed Bussey on piano, sing, dance and act their way through numerous skits about what has been happening in the news recently.

Of course there has been a lot happening for them to get their teeth into, and these guys do bite. Royal baby, horsemeat scandal, Scottish Independence, Operation Yewtree and of course their favourite victims, politicians both UK and worldwide, get their annual deserved roasting.

The show is slick, funny and pacey, the entertainment never falters and the audience get more than enough chances for laugh out loud moments and applause breaks to last two shows.

All in all yet another excellent show from a creative team who have been coming up with the goods for years and years. Looking forward to 2014 version already guys.
