Tom Wrigglesworth – Utterly at Odds with the Universe 4 Star **** - One4Review

It has been a few years since I have seen this extremely tall rather hairy comic at the Fringe so it was good to be able to attend his 2013 Edinburgh show, along with many, many others.
Yorkshire man Wriggles worth is a funny guy whose shows always take the form of a narrative of aspects of his personal life and this years is no exception.
Initially telling us that he was going to tell the story of his holiday in Dubai which did sort of feature what he majored on was his recently deceased granddad and the indelible impression he left on Tom’s life. It was obvious that this gentleman was a major influence in his growing up, Wrigglesworth related anecdotes a plenty of their intertwined lives, but there was other ports of call too. The aforementioned Dubai holiday and his posh charity gig were able to provide this eminently likable wordsmith with material to add to the mix.
But it was his granddad that came through and the interviews they recorded played at both the top and bottom of the show were both entertaining yet touched with a hint of sadness.
Certainly an early evening show well worth catching.
