Potted Sherlock 4**** - One4Review

Potted Sherlock 4****

| On 02, Aug 2014

We always enjoy a trip down to the Pleasance during the Fringe as they seem to cater for every possible market. This show is an example of the terrific quality and diversity that is available.

Potted Sherlock is a fast paced, energetic and thoroughly entertaining display. One of the actors, Dan is mingling and shaking hands with audience as we arrive and they quickly set the scene once the show begins. The aim is to demonstrate the solving of all sixty Sherlock mysteries in the 70 minute show. To be honest, I am not familiar with all sixty, but this isn’t a requirement for the enjoyment of the show. The mysteries are played out brilliantly with the aid of a very handy countdown display for the audience to keep track, this along with the quite hilarious Big and Dirty Dancing references make this a very worthwhile trip to the Pleasance, which I would not hesitate to recommend anyone to go along.

The Fringe guide recommends this show for those children aged 6 and over and I would say that is fair, as I said before it quite fast paced and energetic and little ones may struggle to process each mystery before you’ve moved on to the next.

A tremendous performance, I can’t wait to see what they do next year.

Pleasance One. July 30 – 25th August. 14.50
