Brave Macbeth 5*****

Wow! This is a delightful, amusing and somewhat brilliant version of the Macbeth story made accesible to children in the audience without it feeling ‘dumbed down’.

The music and songs are catchy and fun, the cast are equally so. It features all of the main characters, Lady Macbeth, Banquo and his son Fleance, MacDuff and of course the big man himself. The witches were tremendous and as they opened the show, they set the scene for a show that wasn’t likely to disappoint. This was an absolute delight to attend, suitable for a vast range of audiences, there’s your younger audience, the tourist crowd who fancy a wee taste of Scottish Shakespeare and the Shakespeare fans, none of whom I believe would be disappointed with this.

The show is an hour long and it flies by with the story unfolding with the aid of a great musical backdrop. The cast use almost all of the Spiegeltent to put on this performance, keeping the audience on their toes at all times.

Everybody connected with this show should feel very proud of themselves, we had a great time and everyone around us seemed to feel the same, so if you arer available, you would be mad to miss this!

The Famous Spiegeltent. St Andrew Square.

Totally agree.. saw it today and I’ve never seen two five year olds so amused for an hour… Lots to keep us adults smiling to. Great performances and excellent pacing, music and singing.
