There are a number of Fringe institutions around, late nights, poor diet, rain of course and Mervyn Stutter’s Pick of the Fringe. The first three are not great but the last one is a different proposition.
This is the 25th year now that Mervyn Stutter, the man in the pink suit fronts, a selection of some of the best shows on the fringe each year but like some other of it’s kind theatre and music do get quite a look in on’ the different every day bill’ thanks to the research by Merv and his team prior to the show.
As usual Stutter warms up his audience with a few topical gag, a couple of his comedy songs and acts as MC introducing the performances and chatting with the performers afterwards about what has just been seen and with seven acts on the show I saw there should be something for everyone.
This show feels comfortable, almost like a good friend, Stutter is a genial host and the year by year returnees is testament to the popularity of this. Tickets are usually in short supply so if you want to get a taste of Fringe 2016. get to the box office quick
