Norris and Parker – See You at the Gallows 3***

| On 11, Aug 2016

Katie Norris and Sinead Parker, backed on keyboards and pithy asides by Kristof, we never did learn his full name, return for an hour of late night sketch comedy in the sauna that is the Pleasance Attic.
The ladies open proceeding clad in black lycra catsuits and red wigs with a song purporting to be Feminazis and move on to establish Norris as the superior, alpha and Parker as the confused subservient half.
Sketches come thick and fast, a tongue in cheek 80s style cop show, a punk poet a la John Cooper Clark, teachers, Aussie catering recruiter and the ongoing thread of the fragility in the friendship / business relationship between the two protagonists.
There is music too, pastiches of songs from Evita to Kate Bush, the obligitory audience involvement also and there are a lot of good laughs drawn from the capacity crowd.
For me, some of the characters were wrung dry of their credibility, whilst others had a lot more mileage left in them than was used on the night.
There is no doubt that they are a popular duo, should that be trio, and they deserve to flourish.
