Playing in the hottest room in the Fringe she says is hardly ideal for a menopausal woman and yet this is her lot for Fringe 2017.
Ms Beaton a divorced mother of two teenagers of course adds to the issues with her brand of hot comedy that provides a jam-packed hour of laughs for her capacity crowd.
It is a fact filled show, each of which is verified by her autistic Bonobo loving son, but it is not dry. She has flipcharts, and statistics about their use, emojis, and questions the use of them and gifs, wondering if we were eventually going to be returning to hieroglyphs.
Ms Beaton refers a lot to her family life, growing up, her kids, the divorce and her new found sexuality. Her material is well written with some cracking stories along the way. I don’t think anyone failed to be in stitches with stories of her issues with menopause magnets and even the creative gardens she did. Her stage presence was impressive and the audience work was inclusive, never uncomfortable.
All in all a very good afternoon show, well worth checking out. However be quick. It is extremely popular.
