Gráinne Maguire :- I Forgive You, Please Like Me 2**

| On 11, Aug 2018

I have seen Irish comedian Gráinne Maguire a few times over the years and have always thought that she was very good especially when she was doing political stuff as subsequent TV and radio work mostly on this subject have followed.

I am afraid I left this show feeling rather disappointed in it I am sorry to say. Her opinion that she is always right would suggest that all the talk about the Irish term Lovely Girls, they can be either sex by the way, the self-deprecating way she describes her dating history, her longing to be a phone screen saver, dressing for a date and for some reason being attracted to sleazy men for example, is the way to go.

I was unsure of the persona she delivered as slightly fawning, I suppose tying into the show title, but certainly not the feminist comic I have seen previously.

There is some stronger stuff, the Irish heritage, nuns and the meeting at a benefit gig with Sinn Féin’s Gerry Adams brightened up what appeared for many to be very ordinary hour.
