Josh Glanc: Karma Karma Karma Karma Karma Chamedian 4**** - One4Review

Josh Glanc does…sketch-character comedy (?), and there’s something of the wee scone about all of them, something mildly heartwrenching among the hilarity. The show is a series of thumbnail sketches of characters, and for all their variety, they all have an earnestness about them, utterly devoid of any cynicism, that makes them marginally adorable.
Mr Glanc’s audience interactions are triumphant: when a performer pulls audients on to the stage before the show proper has even started, there is a slight unease that it might end in embarrassment for someone. But Josh doesn’t give them anything too outrageous to do and is himself so enthused and sincere that it comes off brilliantly, and just like that, the audience are in the palm of his hand.
His comedic arsenal is varied, so there’s traditional stand up, absurdity, nonsense, pathos, parody, music, even some meta stuff going on – truly something for everyone. There are points when characters are dropped briefly so Josh himself talks, and that’s just as delightful. Nothing in the show is extraneous, the performance is slick and polished, and it’s all wonderful. Go see.
