Kika's Birthday - 4**** - One4Review

Kika’s Birthday is an enchanting, magical production that was an absolute joy to behold. Danyah Miller’s performance is faultless in this captivating show that entertained the children in the audience, who were aged up to approximately eight years old.
Danyah recalls the story of Kika, a little French Mouse, and the delightful journey through the four seasons in the run up to her surprise fifth birthday party. We meet her friends and play birthday games whilst under the curious scrutiny of the ginger cat who is watching with fervent interest. A charming, interactive story that involves seamless and clever use of props that were all based on kitchen utensils, right down to the puppets that were created from dish towels and piping nozzles. During the show Danyah also manages to bake a birthday cake, which is impressive in itself, but also makes the venue smell amazing.
The write up states from age four 4 upwards but there were a number of younger children in the audience and they were not restless and it kept their interest.
With the added bonus of free cake thrown in I would recommend this delightfully sweet production but you will have to be quick as shows are only on until Monday 13th August.
