The New – and according to the poster, improved – I Hate Children Children’s Show is targeted at ‘older kids and annoying teens’, however many of the audience were on the younger side. All still got the chance to join Paul Nathan on stage and take part in various tricks if they wanted.

This is very much an audience participation show, with youngsters helping out with rope tricks, a guillotine, card tricks, mind reading, and a spot of science from his German character.

Although some of what Nathan has done gets explained, the final trick is harder to read, but makes for a silly, fun ending.

On the whole, it felt that the new and improved aspect was still something of a work in progress, but by sheer force of personality, the energetic Nathan holds the room, and the hour flies by.
