Jon Culshaw- Imposter Syndrome 5***** - One4Review
one4review | On 07, Aug 2023
Back at the Fringe once more, Jon Culshaw performs his latest offering, Imposter Syndrome. The venue is The Gilded Balloon Debating Hall, and it’s packed with an audience ready to be entertained.
The star of many TV and radio shows, he reminds us that it was 1994 that he got his first break on Spitting Image being the voice of many of the foam-faced characters.
His vocal talents are fantastic and if you close your eyes for a moment you’d actually think the people he’s impersonating are there on stage by his side. The show is slick and very well thought out and he manages to weave an array of Prime Ministers, presidents, sports stars and celebrities into his set.
There a number of musical moments that are very witty and clever, and the Shakespeare soliloquy was a particular favourite of mine and the crowd.
But what happens when you meet the people you take the Mickey out of for a living? Jon shares some hilarious interactions with us with perfect comedy timing.
The Debating Hall was packed the evening I went, if you can get your hands on a ticket, I’d definitely recommend it. It’s amazing value for money as you’ll never hear so many famous people in one place in the space of an hour!
