Deep in the dark lair of Monkey Barrel Hive, in the heart of Edinburgh’s old town is the location for one of Scotland’s most entertaining comics once more. McClelland quipped that he did well in this room last year and deserved a better room, but it didn’t happen. Ever the pragmatist Rosco just got on with what he does best, and that is to entertain his crowd with his own kinda magic and does it so well.
Over the years I have watched him mature, and I use the term loosely, he has never failed to deliver a jam-packed set, crowd work, wacky stories, his ability to go to places not many would dare, but whatever he presents is a well-crafted, laugh packed delight.
He relates a myriad of tales, funerals, bendy busses, chip balls, ghost tours, dentists interspersed with occasional VTR and the Royal family are but a few of the topics he expounds on.
Every year he gets better in my opinion. He does deserve a more high-profile room, but don’t let it stop you visiting the Hive now. He deserves a huge crowd to appreciate this real funny Scot.
