Today’s show was compared brilliantly by JoJo Sutherland (at The Stand at 11:30am daily) who set the tone with truly excellent crowd work and fantastic gags, followed by Justin Moorhouse (Pleasance Courtyard 21:40 until 12th) who likened these shows to exceptional comedy tapas, closing today’s Best of Edinburgh Showcase Show 2024 by saying that the happy mood of the audience made the gig feel like a holiday welcome meeting!

Zoe Brownstone (Pleasance Courtyard 19:15) kept everybody spellbound with anecdotes about living in Amsterdam with covid, and then Mark Simmons (PBHs FreeFringe@Liquid Room Annexe 13:45) master of one liners and brilliant puns which win awards year after year at Festivals around the world, quickly getting the audience totally committed and laughing uproariously throughout while loving his hilarious audience riffing responses.

Last in the show was consumate Ian Stone (Laughing Horse @ The Counting House 16:00) recognisable from Mock The Week, with an amazingly gagpacked set that gets the audience in the palm of his hand.  The measure of this comedy man is that he has a joke about easy to peel satsumas which had people guffawing.  Beat that, Fringe wannabees!
