Is there a nicer, friendlier comic around at the moment? I can’t think of one. There is always a feel good factor about any show this winner of TV’s Show Me the Funny presents and he has been doing them for ages.

Monahan is a showman too, always making a different entrance, sliding down the bannisters in his space running round the audience hugging everyone, forever smiling. His obvious enthusiasm for his job is totally mirrored as almost all of the audience has seen him at least once before and like me has come back for more.

He loves to talk to the audience including them more than most comics, several get lured up on stage to ‘assist’ him in his quest for fun, and there seem to be little dissention in going.

The show came about because of a list he found about the top 100 things that made people happy and his love of cakes and hugs were not in the first positions which amazed him.

Monahan covers many on the list in his own inevitable way garnering genuine laugh out loud moments along the way.

There was one thing that surprised me, any Patrick Monaghan show wasn’t on his list either. How come?
