Future Perfect 4****

Meet Dom. Dom has fallen out with his best friend Ali, and would do anything to go back in time and fix the mistakes he has made. Enter a time traveller, who shows Dom that the past cannot be changed, but the future can.
This show, by the wonderful Tall Stories, is really quite different. The seating in the Pleasance Green has been arranged so that the audience surrounds the two actors. From the very beginning the children are encouraged to participate in the story, whether that be providing sounds effects, or playing the part of Dom.
In some ways, this show is more like a workshop. There are frequent breaks throughout the performance when children are asked to stop and think and then write down their thoughts and experiences. Pens and paper are even provided to enable this. This is a lovely touch as the past, present and future can be difficult concepts for young children.
The two actors are very friendly and lovely with the kids, and my little one enjoyed participating.
Also worth mentioning is that this show is just £2 a ticket in celebration of Tall Stories’ twentieth anniversary. Book early as its been selling out.
