This lateish show presented by Ross Brierley and Joshua Sadler is set up as a spoof chat show, hosted by the dapper Ross, presenter and part time Burtons’ manikin, with Josh ‘doing’ most of the character work appears to be highly influenced by Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer, even to the extent of having a talking baby as the house band. Have we seen this before? Think so.
The surreal nature of the interviewing a dinosaur from Jurassic Park, a Glaswegian Super Mario and a Jean Michel Jarre tribute act with headliner Sir Brucie give plenty of scope for the guys to showcase their abilities, something they certainly grab.
There were lower points too, the continued involvement for one audience member grated after a while and the Av adverts although well produced did detract from the pace and energy in the room.
The guys seemed to be having fun, occasionally trying to corpse each other and in a more packed, possibly slightly drunker audience I’m sure there would have been a greater buzz, but there are certainly far worse ways to spend and hour.
