Kae Kurd – Kurd Your Enthusiasm 5*****

| On 23, Aug 2017

Kae Kurd has all the confidence, stage presence and charisma that is required to be a stand out performer. And to have this in what is his debut hour, together with a delightfully entertaining and funny show surely marks him out for higher things and certainly better than performing in a cave at teatime that’s for sure.
Kurd came to the UK as a refugee aged 6 months when his parents where force to flee Saddam Hussein, growing up in multi-cultural Brixton, but the parental values were instilled from an early age. He highlights the differences of his parents struggle for change and those of marches where it is good to be seen. His alternative may just make his point.
Referencing his family, being a Muslim, rising racism, gangsta kids in Starbucks, his comedic roots on the Black circuit, even soya milk and Lidl, Kurd finds the funnies wherever his outstandingly well written show takes him. I just loved his story about working at Next!
The Kurdish people have no country to call home, but there is certainly one whose natural environment is a stage, educating and entertaining everyone as only he can. And that is Kae.
Already I am looking forward to next year’s offering.
