Steve Bugeja: Single Mum 4**** - One4Review
one4review | On 16, Aug 2019
After 3 successful Fringe shows relating true, personal stories and gathering both audiences and critical acclaim, Steve last year had to make something up, another good show, but the breakup he talked about came true.
Not taking a chance of predicting another disaster, he is back to what he knows, telling of stories of actual events, using all his skills as a top-notch comedy writer and born raconteur.
A discussion took place with his brother prior to Steve being his best man and they reminisced about growing up, and this discussion led to Bugeja deciding to share his story with the audience, a decision that worked oh so well.
A brief synopsis is that Steve is very close to his mum, he was even a C-section baby, cause he didn’t want to leave her, follows on through her divorce, dating, Steve treated this as auditions for a new dad, so suitable, some less so, holidays in Ibiza and Turkey, mum’s birthday party, not quite what he expected, internet dating and the presence of Carol, his mums friend armed with a bottle of wine usually.
This show is littered with funny stories and laugh-out loud moments, some of which also elicited aaarhs from a group of women near me, and of course his relaxed storytelling style is perfect for the hour of top class entertainment.
