Tony Law: Nonsense Overdrive 3 Star (+1 for audience reaction) - One4Review

Tony Law: Nonsense Overdrive 3 Star (+1 for audience reaction)

| On 10, Aug 2013

12.40 is an outrageous time for a comedy show to start. In Fringe terms it is about breakfast time, but cult comic Tony Law is selling out on a regular as clockwork basis.

But then nobody ever could accuse Law as a conventional comic. His show is totally unstructured to me as a novice watcher, he goes where he wants, literally at times wandering around the club when the mood suits him.

His material is anything but conventional too, for my taste waaay to surreal, but to his legion of fans then it is food and drink and they are hungry and thirsty for as much as the man could deliver. And he delivered plenty, over running by at least 15 minutes on the day I watched him.

Law has a fertile imagination that is for sure yet there were parts of his set that were more structured and for me this was far better. But I think I was in a very small minority in not totally getting him. I’m sure his ever growing legion of fans will keep baying for more of his nonsense in overdrive or even turbo charged.

So if you like comedy without a setup and punch line then see the Law man. That is assuming there are still tickets available.
