Brendon Burns may be a white guy but the last word that could describe him is dumb. In both meanings of the word. Burns is a very clever person and one of the true comedy genius’s that are still performing. And boy is he not dumb as in not speaking, he expounds long and loud for his entire show, created and delivered as only he can.
The thrust of the show this year is his recent visit to perform at the Adelaide comedy Festival and the differences in comparison with performing at the number one comedy festival here in Edinburgh. He also explained in detail why he, who likes being an Aussie, refuses to celebrate Australia Day.
Whether it is perched on his stool, or prowling about Burns commands his space. He has the audience in stitches and it was obvious he was enjoying himself with a real comedy crowd rather with the more pretentious Adelaide people. In Edinburgh he can really speak his mind.
Burns is a showman and there is always something different in his performances and of course there is no exception here. What is constant also is a must see hour of bellylaughs and thought provoking material.
