Lucy Porter Consequences 4**** - One4Review

The lights dim, the introduction made, the capacity audience eagerly await the entrance of the comic and them she appears, wheeling a trolley with glasses and sherry. Is this really a comedy show or a drinks party?
Rest assured it is the former. As always Ms Porter’s crowd, ranging from teens to senior citizens, are in for an hour of good solid material liberally peppered with laughs.
Consequences majors on her life and family as a suburban wife and mother around 40, sharing with the crowd a letter she wrote to her future self when she was 16 and how her life and thoughts have changed over the intervening years. But this is not all, she talks about politics, social media, transgender rights, music and an issue with an Australian sheepshearer.
Using the charm she has in bucket loads Lucy engages those watching with her stage presence, beautifully written witty set with call-backs galore and generally makes everyone and all feel comfortable that they are in a safe pair of hands. The show is a thoroughly good way to spend a teatime hour and with tickets selling out daily it would be wise to book early, or you will (not) suffer the consequences.
