Alasdair Beckett-King:- The Interdimensional ABK 4.5**** - One4Review
one4review | On 20, Aug 2019
Alasdair Beckett- King sweeps to the stage, his flame coloured locks flowing and introduces himself as from another dimension, and one far better than ours, cue animated VT our Interdimensional visitor has created and we are off.
There is feeling from the start that the audience are in a safe pair of hands as he leads all through his smoothly delivered set, an aura of calm, even given he really is a prophet of doom sent to our dimension to sort things out, while on his gap year.
Beckett-King compares the dimensions, and points out short comings, toilets on trains, Goths and their attire, Hercule Poirot, Britain claiming the credit for things they haven’t done, how theatre goers are being scammed.
He also changes film titles to better ones with amended posters, renames the Royal family, has Winston Churchill recording rock songs, ABK’s belief that Dylan is a genius among a whole host of other talking points.
He is a charismatic performer and writes oh so well. The laughter he draws is long, hard and frequent and the performance is over far too soon for his near capacity crowd.
