Okay I am used by now to seeing performers a generation younger than me do outstanding comedy performances, but when it’s heading towards two generations?? I must admit that I was sceptical as to how it would go down with me. But am I glad I went? You betcha!

So, Finlay is only 23, definitely a Gen Z, but he oozes confidence, stage presence and total command of his very varied aged audience excluding no one and appealing to all. He has TV appearances behind him, and was the winner of 2019 So You think You’re Funny, so it is not hard to understand why. The material is diverse, okay he is young so some of the TikTok style references meant less to us oldies than the other Gen Zs but nobody could feel excluded.

We had songs, we had VT of him as a child, material about university, he actually applied for the same course as Malala at Oxford, and has millions of YouTube and TikTok followers and won the 2019 So You Think You Are Funny competition, yet he claims his generation don’t take anything seriously. Perhaps he is right.

What is assured for this bright eyed, personable and extremely talented youngster is that he will be taking the comedy world by storm, catch him now while you can.
