Possibly the Last Chance to See Susan Morrison - 4**** - One4Review

Having being ushered into the bowels of the Newtown Theatre at noon, everything in place, ready to go, the only problem, where is Susan Morrison?
A lady bursts into the venue, berating the Edinburgh roadworks that are everywhere and a hold up caused by beer barrels, no, not a random cleaner she states, the performer herself, who has had a difficult commute.
But, there and set, the action flows fast, furious and laugh out loud funny. She has been a top draw on the Scottish comedy scene for… ever it seems, and is one of the best comperes around, so it was no surprise to me that the crowd work was amazingly successful, chatting to most people finding humour from all the information gathered.
But there was obviously prepared material too, as always well written, and delightfully presented, Edinburgh Glasgow differences, historical STD cures that brings tears to the eyes, and a whole raft of historical practices that she educated and drew laughter from in equal parts and trying to explain some Scottish delicacies to non-Scots just had to be witnessed.
Susan has had more than her fair share of health issues recently, probably as referenced in the show title, but she is currently in a good place, determined to attain her state pension when she is finally eligible, and I trust entertaining the public and making them laugh for many years to come.
