The Cat in the Hat - 4**** - One4Review

After a brief, calm beginning, the show’s high energy was evident from the moment the Cat arrived, and the children are swept up in a whirlwind of tempting ways to pass the time while their mother is gone.
Thing One and Thing Two appear with even more energy, bouncing around the stage, doing silly things, and eventually heading out into the audience, while giant beach balls and thrown around, and the Things drench their young fans with water pistols.
The text was all there, but with additions to allow the Cat to develop more detail in his diversions, from indoor tennis to riding a bike. Thankfully these didn’t detract from the original Dr Seuss words. The one thing that did was the Cat’s habit of using a drawn out “Oh Yeeeees” like Mr Tumble from CBeebies, but if you can get past that, it’s a lovely show for both youngsters who snuggle up to be read the book, and their older siblings, now able to decipher it themselves.
