Setting the scene for an evening in 1930’s Paris, the Spiegeltent Palais Du Variete is the perfect venue for this cabaret circus act.
A six piece live band sets the atmosphere of a smoky jazz club as the cast take to the stage.
Opening the show the artists dance, twirl and do acrobatics across chairs. A dancer teases and flirts with the audience before taking to the tightrope (in heels!), dancing and doing tricks perfectly timed to the music.
Two gorgeous male acrobatics then provide the most wonderful trapeze routine to the song “What Makes a Man a Man” sung beautifully by one of the cast. The men weaved lyrically in and out of each other above the stage, swinging and performing the most death defying acrobatics, again in heels, (I’m amazed he didn’t take his partner’s eye out).
The juggling artist did well not to be put off by his beautiful assistant who did a striptease during his act. The comedy routine that resulted in two of the artists swinging from a light shade was brilliantly choreographed in time with the music.
The cast deliver a very sensual and stylish performance whilst also demonstrating the most incredible strength and skill. The live band is fabulous – perfectly matching the music in time with each and every trick.
Amazing!
