Alex Edelman :- Just for Us 5*****

| On 09, Aug 2018

It’s been a couple of years since Alex Edelman graced the Fringe but he is back, Just for Us, in 2018 playing in the prestigious Pleasance Cabaret bar and packing it out nightly. And it is so easy to see why?

Edelman is from Boston, although lives in New York, and is of a Jewish family, hell his brother represented Israel in the winter Olympics he tells us, and the main theme of his hour is his attendance at an Anti-Semitic meeting in New York and the goings on there.

Liberally mixed in though is very funny material about Co-Co the gorilla, American presidents, working with Stephen Fry, USA’s obsession with the British Royals, Alex has met Prince William, a Vegas trip and Robin Williams, a veritable smorgasbord of topics. Being the writer he is Edelman weaves the component pieces together seamlessly, his writing is hilarious and from the top draw and the stage presence he is blessed with is second to none. He has the knack of speaking to everyone in the audience as if it was a one to one conversation, it is as his title suggests, just for us.

Edelman was heard to say he sometimes feels the room is too big for him. I think not. It is a great fit and it won’t be very long before he is way, way too big for this room and many others.
