Monski Mouse's Baby Cabaret – 4**** - One4Review

Monski Mouse’s Baby Cabaret – 4****

| On 14, Aug 2022

The first Monski Mouse’s Baby Cabaret since 2019! Monski takes the stage with Tom on guitar who likes to buzz like a bee, Michelle who loves a fire engine sound (with accompanying firemen), and Dusty who adores a call and response. With our ensemble ready and introduced we are taken through a lovely hour of sing-alongs, clap-along and dance-along as Monski and the gang want us to get into the groove and enjoy a day at the cabaret.

The tent is set up with pillows and blankets so parents and guardians know they can hunker down and seats are set around the stage so those not keen on floor seating have a good view of the action. The venue is packed and it was clear everyone was having a good time. Kids got to engage with some puppets and cut-outs. My 2 children stood at the front completely enamored by the wheels on the bus as the red bus zoomed across the stage.

There were some really interesting song choices that moved the pace of the show around somewhat, a beautiful rendition of The Beatles Black Bird had the kiddies becoming very zen, whilst the action rap and Amy Winehouse cover had us up and dancing around. It might have been nice to separate the room a bit so those that wanted to dance had the space to do so as parents and babies/toddlers dominated the main floor and we happened to go on an extremely hot day and although I saw a fan on the way out, it did little to prevent the heat being an issue. I was surprised at the lack of bubbles as with so many babies this seemed like an easy win. My personal highlight though was “It’s not easy being 3” to which my 3-year-old shouted “YES, IT IS!”. You will have a great time at this Baby Cabaret, your 4-5-year-old may be less into it.
