As a child of the 70’s and 80’s, I grew up being a huge fan of Blondie. In fact one of my early album purchases was “Parallel Lines”. So I was very keen to see this show and find out more about The Blondie Story.

Reine Beau, narrates the back story of Debbie Harry and how she became one of pops most iconic women and a New Wave Punk trailblazer. She performs their greatest hits through the years interspersed with great stories. Did you know that she started off singing in a folk band!! Me neither.

There’s a terrific 3 piece ensemble accompanying Reine, and they really get the crowd rocking. It’s amazing how many of her hits we all remember as we sing along.

I’m addition, there’s some video footage of interviews, which just adds to this celebration of all things Blondie.

Ms Beau is not a Blondie tribute act or impersonator but instead she performs as herself and she has a fantastic voice and beautiful tone. And boy can she belt out a tune. Her rendition of “Picture This” was a real crowd pleaser.

Do go and see this show, it’s really very good, well put together and has a real feel good atmosphere.
