Six Ways - One4Review

I haven’t seen too many musicals this Fringe, but one that was being talked about a lot was this one performed by Sell A Door theatre Company. The plot centres around the interlinked lives of Diane, a would be politician and her drag artiste husband Daryl, her sister Wendy, pregnant but suspects her husband of infidelity, and Wendy’s cleaner Carly with husband Chris who has a gambling addiction. This fast paced musical is certainly interesting and well performed by the six actors and while all the music is played by composer Michael Bradley on keyboards I didn’t feel that any was particularly memorable. However it is probably a show that would grow on me if I got the chance to see it a couple of times. The book by David Hutchinson weaved the interlinked plot well and while all actors turn in creditable performances for me the show was stolen by Sam Thackery as drag artiste Daryl. All in all a very good show one that certainly deserves its word of mouth acclaim.   ****
