Kai Humphries – In Full Colour 4****

| On 23, Aug 2016

For quite a few years now Kai Humphries has been performing his Edinburgh hour to big audiences and wide acclaim. This Geordie, now Edinburgh based has a wicked line of material and a cheeky chappy presence on stage and can always be relied on to offer a value packed show peppered with laughs throughout.
On the Monday in week 3 the decent sized audience seemed at first a little wary of getting on board but such is the strength of his charisma, he won them over very quickly and one and all were soon getting into the spirit of things.
Starting off with a bit about his native Tyneside, moving onto subjects such as his family, different meanings of words in local dialects, Wi-Fi issues, travels to India, a lengthy dissection of his relationship along the way. Humphries never shies away from the occasional crude jokes, which he then defends as only he can, yet alongside the laddy stuff he talks about, there seems to be a deeper side to the guy as well.
His finale, with a little audience participation, is a nice touch and rounded off what is a good comedy hour.
