As you take your seat at the start of the show the acrobats are on stage undressing from their casual clothes, rolling and twisting acrobatically as they are doing this.
The show begins with a member of the troupe emerging from a pile of clothes, twisting and contorting her body into impossible positions.
The stage then explodes with energy as the remainder of the cast arrive on stage demonstrating death defying acrobatics, twist and tumbles.
On the backdrop of a fabulous selection of music, the acrobats provide an evening of contemporary circus, rhythmically taking us on a journey of what it means to be human and of how our bodies, our connections and our aspirations all form part of who we are.
The way the acrobats work together and the level of trust between them is quite outstanding. They certainly have you sitting on the edge of your seat throughout their performance of explosive movement, precarious balancing, jumping and somersaulting. There is artistry as they form what seems impossible body sculpturing. Comedy is included when the cast twist and bend into impossible shapes attempting to lick their elbows. The Human Pyramids are extraordinary, demonstrating their incredible skill and strength.
A well deserved standing ovation, from a show that appeared to be anything but humanly possible. Don’t try this at home!
