Morgan and West: More Magic for Kids 4****

| On 11, Aug 2017

The last time I saw so many umbrellas in one places was… well yes, it probably was at the Edinburgh Fringe, but they were put to even better use in Mr Morgan’s trick, while Mr West feared both bad luck and, as ever, children.

Mr West does not appear to like children, and perhaps gives the impression just a little too well, as my seven year old believed him. However Mr Morgan is more than happy with them, and clearly having fun, and the children warmed to him.

During the hour, they packed in plenty of banter, a gameshow of Mr West versus the audience, a child doing magic that even surprised him, escapology, strawberry milk, cutting Mr Morgan in half with children holding him in place, and much more silliness.

But finally, the quiz results were due, the answer boards – which had been in plain sight on stage the whole time – were at last turned over. And despite poor Mr West’s efforts towards factual accuracy, somehow, we won.

This was a lot of fun, and not just for the children in the audience. I haven’t seen their later show, but from what I can gather, the tricks are all completely different ones, and it is also safe for children, so what can I say? If in doubt, go to both!
