This amazing troupe of Ukrainian performers provided a spectacular performance of their contemporary dance/circus show that told a story of tradition, freedom and love.
The show starts with Yevheniia Obolonina delicately walking across a stage that is covered in sand. Six muscle-bound males soon join her on stage, landing as if they had fallen from the sky.
With the most wonderful artistry these super human performers contort their bodies into positions you wouldn’t believe possible. The acrobatics are brilliantly choreographed along to a wonderful atmospheric soundtrack. There are the most jaw dropping routines, in particular the balancing act performed by the twins as one balances upside down on his brothers head mirroring his movements perfectly below. It was incredible to watch Yevheniia dancing on her partner’s upraised stomach as he bent over backwards. The scene with the ladder literally took my breath away. They cleverly make use of a large mirror and lighting as they perform these remarkable contortions.
This was a beautifully performed and breathtaking performance.
