What a lovely breath of fresh air Sarah Callaghan is, this 23 year old bounds on stage in this high energy performance exuding the confidence and maturity of a true professional. Sarah is a very ambitious girl and has worked her way through the comedy ranks gigging for the last 5 years and that hard work has paid off. Prior to coming to the show I was hearing good things about her and she didn’t disappoint.

Her subject matter was refreshing, as a working class girl from Uxbridge wanting to escape her mundane life she took us on a tour of her bedroom, the single bed, the wardrobes with pictures of happy times, and the broken curtain rail that was symbolic of a number of issues in her life. She is certainly not a girly girl and talks about her geezer and how she keeps him in line. She tells us of her youth and trouble she got into and her experiences with recreational drugs. Ms Callaghan is a very straight talker and knows what she’s about. She is way wiser than her years and really controlled the room which was filled with laughter from the off.

Sarah is definitely a rising star, the crowd loved her and the guy sitting beside me even said he was going to come back again the next day because she was so good.
